Review Harney & Sons Tea

Harney & Sons Tea was kind enough to send me 20 tea bags in exchange to review their tea! Here I will review their tea and explain how you can save when you purchase through iHerb and use coupon code WAC948. What a great opportunity! I did not expect 20 different tea bags to arrive at my door, how generous of them.

The sample pack included a wide variety of green and black teas. So far I have tried the Organic Bangkok, Organic English Breakfast and Jasmine Dragon Pearl tea bags. These tea bags are nice single silken sachets, that allow for the loose tea inside to mix well with the water, and therefore get superior flavor extraction.

The Organic English Breakfast brewed to a nice robust cup of tea, and I dolled it up with one raw sugar cube and some half and half cream. It was lovely and I wished that I had more bags to brew another cup to go along with my breakfast!

The Organic Bangkok blend was next. It has a base of organic green tea and has a thai inspired infusion of lemongrass, ginger, vanilla and coconut! Reminds me of thai cooking. It has a wonderful aroma that filled the kitchen. It was perfectly sweet and not bitter. The coconut and vanilla mingle with the green tea and the lemongrass and ginger stay on the palette after you swallow it. I really, really liked this variety. I understand this comes in iced tea sized bags as well and will definitely be trying this one. My go to green tea with lemongrass is normally Tazo Zen but this was way nicer and was more complex without being over the top. Organic Bangkok is one you make when your best friend comes over for the afternoon to chat, and hang out. Perfect over conversation.

The Jasmine Dragon Pearl was the last I tried before writing this review. It contains the nice little handrolled pearls of green tea, again within the silken sachet. I'm not certain about the pearls being within the silken sachet and if this limits the tea from unfurling. I haven't had dragon pearls in a bag previously. It was tasty and fragrant with jasmine, but I preferred the loose David's tea version to this one. Although, from a price point this is much better cost wise than the David's tea. If you drink a fair amount of dragon pearl tea then maybe this is for you. I know iHerb.com sells it for $10.99 for 20 tea bags which is really reasonable.

Lastly Harney & Sons sent a lovely catalogue with mega information about where their teas are sourced from and contained wonderful photos from around the world of tea growing. The company works hard on trying to be as organic as possible, and is proud of their product.

So lastly, how to save when you buy Harney & Sons. If you want to try their teas you can shop from any country in the world at iHerb.com. They have 50 different products from Harney & Sons, including these varieties I have reviewed.
